This place is full of lies..i have coming there for years.. And behind the curtain is there true colors...

My opinion of this place was forever changed, at least 7 years ago. First off, let me say that I'm a nurse of 24 years. I've been in Big Sisters twice...in my 20s and 30s. Ive bought for families for christmas through other organizations. I spent about 6 years sending anonymous gift cards to needy families. The last 2 years, we've donated to the humane society. So...years back, i thought id volunteer my time here. I stopped by, and dropped off food, but they were too busy to talk. So, i googled it, and tried at least twice to contact a lady, whom i thought was in charge of volunteering. I waited weeks. Then, i emailed the man in charge, and said that nobody called me, that i wanted to volunteer, etc.. So, this lady called me. I was excited that she called, but it wasnt the call i had expected. I believe she was angry that I'd written her superior. Have you ever been treated so badly, that you are stunned, can feel your face flushing, and start feeling a little shaky?? Well, i don't crumble easily...ive been a delivery nurse, and a dialysis nurse... im prett laid back. But, this lady was condescending, and said she didnt have time, when i asked for a tour. She asked if i went to church, and when i said i didn't, she said, "ohhh...i see". When she asked what kind of volunteering i wanted to do, and i said, working in the store, kitchen, womens shelter or whatever, she made fun of me. She said, "youre a NURSE...and you dont have an idea as to what you want to do here....you want to work in the store...". I waited until i was 100% sure she was being nasty to me intentionally, and then i asked her why she was being rude, and talking to me like that. She became sweet and giggled...first time, and said, "im not". It went on for a minute until i just hung up. I was so angry, i wanted to cry. I did complain to her boss, but he didnt know me from Adam, so, im guessing she lied. They will never get my money....and i have a little money, time, and the heart to help people.

The business side has very friendly, helpful, loving, and caring people.

Very helpful and kind to all that are in need

I live in this place
